This book is filled with amazing non-traditional soul food recipes. I’m not a great cook, and often struggle to find cookbooks that I want to read, and try, from cover to cover.I opened this book hoping to find some cool recipes, but it gave me so much more. I could barely tear myself away from the beautiful photos, and history long enough to dive into the recipes. This book is a must have!

Wow! I am so happy about this culinary publication. The author is my first cousin and I personally, lived the culinary history along with her. This book showcases her passion, talent and experience. Deah! Thank you for sharing such sacred and dear experiences with the world.

This book is full of great stories and histories of soul food. It pays proper homage to its African ancestry and brings the traditional recipes to today's table in healthy and inspiring ways.A great read! Have my own copy and am gifting 2 more!

Her view on food is phenomenal, in her cookbook, Deah ties in her childhood roots along with African history & awesome quotes to create this interesting spin on a cookbook. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
